Web design programming language is basically a set of grammatical rules and vocabulary used for instructing computing device to perform a task (fifteendesign.co.uk, 2022). This is also commonly referred as coding language in simple term. In website development, the developer simply uses programming language to create a website and ensure it is user friendly and easy to navigate, while monitoring and maintaining the website's capability (fifteendesign.co.uk, 2022).

Programming languages used to create e-commerce website :

html - HyperText Markup Language (HTML) defines the meaning and structure of a websites's content which is the most basic building block of website's contents (developer.mozilla.org, 2022).

css - Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) defines the styling and formatting of a web page such as colours, layout, padding, fonts and so on. Basically it is a programming language that includes all the data and informations relating to the visuals of a website (Wixencylopedia, 2022).

javascript - (developer.mozilla.org, 2022) "Javascript is a scripting or programming language that allows you to implement complex features on web pages".

python - Python is a general - purpose language which makes it versatile and can be used to program many different types of functions (James, 2022)

ruby - Ruby is an open-source object-oriented scripting language, a scripting language doesn't talk directly to hardware like the programming languages such as C++ and C, it is written in a text file and then later parsed by an interpreter and turned into a code (ACG technical editors team, 2021).

An e-commerce website generally consists following terms :

internet website cookies - Cookies are the small text files data such as a username and password that are used to identify the computer and the network your computer use. There are two type of cookie, Magic cookie and HTTP cookie (kaspersky.com, 2022).

User Interface (UI) - They are the access points where users interact with the designs, they consists three forms : Graphical user interface (GUIs), Voice-controlled interface (VUIs) and Gesture-based interface (interaction-design.org, 2022).

Page source - (pcmag.com, 2022)"Also known as "source" and "document source," it is the HTML code (source code) of a Web page (HTML document)".

Meta Tags - Meta tags are the little content descriptors which helps to tell search engine what a web page is about (wordstream.com, 2022).

Jquery - (jquery.com, 2023) "jQuery is a fast, small, and feature-rich JavaScript library. It makes things like HTML document traversal and manipulation, event handling, animation, and Ajax much simpler with an easy-to-use API that works across a multitude of browsers".

Hyperlinks - an electronic link providing direct access from one distinctively marked place in a hypertext or hypermedia document to another in the same or a different document
