Invention of e-commerce and www

World Wide Web :

WWW commonly known as World Wide Web, W3 or the Web, It is an interconnected system of public webpages which can be accessed through the internet. The Web is very different from internet, web is one of many application built on top of internet (Mmdn web docs, 2023). In 1989 Tim Berners-lee, a British scientist invented the World Wide Web while working at CERN. The Web was initially designed and developed to satisfy the need for automated information-sharing amongst scientists in universities and institutes around the world (home.cern, 2023).

Miva. 2020, "Online shopping was invented in pioneered in 1979 by entrepreneur Michael Aldrich in the United Kingdom. Aldrich was able to connect a modified domestic television to a real-time multi-user transaction processing computer via a telephone line". The very first e-commerce company was launched in 1982 by the name of Boston Computer Exchange, it was primarily an online market used to sell computers (Joe. Mc, 2021). E-commerce has came a very long since the very first e-commerce company, driven by the constant changes in technologies growing economy it shows no sign of stopping (BIGCOMMERCE, 2022).
