Documentation of progress in Website Development (Using Wix). Post should cover signification milestones in the development process
Wix is a cloud-based software provider that offers web development services, enabling inexperienced developers to create attractive websites with ease (Hoots, 2020). The whole documentation of building an e-commerce website using the Wix editor will be presented in this post. Here are examples of the steps involved in developing a website:
Account Register:
When we click "Get Started" on the Wix home page, as shown in the screenshot above, we are taken to the sign-up and login pages, as shown below.
New users can register for an account on this page, and logged-in users can access their Wix accounts.
New website setup walk through:
After opening a Wix account for the first time, the user will be taken right to the page shown above, where they can begin setting up their website by specifying the type of website they intend to create.
Following the user's selection of their desired website type, a link will take them to the screen you see above, where they can enter the name of their website.
The next step after choosing the name of your website is to choose one of the Wix utility programmes and pre-install it before constructing the website.
The user is directed to the page shown above after choosing their desired apps from the grid list, where there are two options for updating the website: using a pre-made template or creating a custom template.
In our case, we chose the custom template option, which takes users to the above-described next page. We have already completed the vast majority of the setup work for our website, and this section displays the data that was given to users for final evaluation.
Once everything passes final inspection with flying colours, the user is forwarded to the following screen, which is depicted above, where they can select from a variety of themes for their website.
The user will be taken to the home page design selection page after selecting the appropriate theme for the website, where they can pick from a variety of home page designs and layouts.
After choosing the ideal home page design, the new website walkthrough comes to its conclusion at this point, as shown in the screenshot below, when users are given the choice to select from a variety of prebuilt page designs to include in the website.
Website design phase:
The website designing process begins with this page, when the Wix editor opens with a preview of the website in debug mode, as seen in the image above.
The elements tool part of the Wix editor page is depicted in the image above. Here, users may access several types of elements, including typography, font style, components, and more.
The section toolset of the editor, which is depicted in the image above, allows the user to add various types of sections to the website.
The options for the site are seen in the image above, where the user can alter the overall settings and customisations of the site, including the font style, font size, colour scheme, and other elements.
The section in the image above represents the Wix app store, where website developers and designers may integrate third-party apps and features like payment gateways, e-commerce, and so forth.
The media section of the Wix editor, where all the media-related components and files are managed, is seen in the image above.
Deployment phase:
The deployment process is the last step before the final modified website is made live on the Wix server.
Designers can also use this pop-up dialogue option to alter the website's mobile version.
